This Chronomètre Optimum is a one-off F.P. Journe created for the eighth Ball in Monaco organized by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. It was auctioned at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on October 28, 2022, with proceeds supporting the Foundation's ocean-protection initiatives in Asia. The watch is numbered 508-CO, and its movement is engraved "S.A.S Albert II 2022 Singapore." Standard-production versions belong to the regular Chronomètre family.
The platinum case is 40 mm wide and 9.5 mm thick and is worn on a grey leather strap. Unique to this piece is a burgundy and ruthenium-plated guilloché silver dial with Chinese numerals, paired with blued and ivory-coloured steel hands. The hours and minutes are offset at three o'clock beside the exposed constant-force remontoire, with the power reserve at six. On the reverse, a dead-beat seconds hand is driven by the hand-wound rose-gold movement.
